Get Spotted is Melanoma New Zealand’s annual colouring in competition for preschool and primary-aged kids across the country. It’s a fun and easy way to get children to be creative and start important conversations about staying safe in the sun. There’s also a chance to win an epic prize – a $20,000 shade sail, thanks to our supporter, Lidgard Shades!
With New Zealand having one of the highest rates of melanoma in the world, helping tamariki build sun-safe habits from an early age really matters. Get Spotted makes it easy to bring those messages into your classroom – while having fun and supporting a great cause.

The prize
The winner’s school will receive:
- A fully installed Lidgard Shade Sail for the winner’s school, valued at approximately $20,000+ GST, up to 50m², including four galvanised steel posts. The winner can choose their colour of mesh from the range provided by Lidgard Shades.
- A colour changing UV band for each child in the winner’s class
